Meet Antoinetta

Antoinetta’s introduction to Pilates was in 1978 with Michelle Karsen. Many years later she went through Balance Body's Comprehensive training at EHS pilates in San Francisco. Her curiosity led her to train in many other modalities that have informed her teaching style.

Creativity is an important component of Antoinetta’s being. Therefore, improvising, bringing new variations to exercises, and keeping our brains and bodies awake and inspired is very important to her practice and teaching. She believes that focus on alignment opens pathways and creates a better mind-body connection.

As a teacher, she receives the most pleasure from observing the growth of her students, especially their strength, grace, confidence and deeper understanding of Pilates.

Antoinetta studied and performed Cunningham modern dance and also brings that knowledge to her Pilates practice.

Antoinetta’s Favorite Pilates Exercise

“Anything that gives me the feeling of air such as Jumpboard, Tinkerbell and Dolphin. These exercises remind me of my dancing days leaping through the air. If you don’t know these by name, come join me to share the fun!”
